1.) Three local high school groups presented works
to be judged by R.P.I. Players. Each competing school was given a list
of three one acts and asked to select one to perform for the
competition. The winning presentation was Poor Aubrey by the Mont
Pleasant High School, Schenectady. The R.P.I. Players also presented
Fancy Free at the competition, but not for judgment.
2.) Three local high school groups presented works
to be judged by R.P.I. Players. The winning presentation was Trifles by
the Mont Pleasant High School, Schenectady.
3.) Student directed one-acts in competition. Directed by members of R.P.I. Players, a prize was awarded for the best direction.
4.) Spoof revues put together by students containing
original material, student directed shows, songs, music and some
faculty presentations.
5.) Special production celebrating 10th anniversary.
6.) Number 50 was skipped in programs. No reason known.
7.) Presented by RPI Players, but produced by members of a special play production class. The productions were not numbered.
8.) RPI Players production on live TV. Single
performances presented on the show Community Campus on WRGB,
Schenectady. Box And Cox was presented on February 27th. It Isn't Done
was presented on April 30th.
9.) Preceded by a mid-winter RPI Players
presentation of Pride And Prejudice by the Green Mountain Junior
College Drama Club. Often erroneously attributed to RPI Players, this
was part of an exchange with Green Mountain. Playboy Of The Western
World was also performed there. Pride And Prejudice was never numbered,
but after Playboy Of The Western World the program number 88 was
skipped, evidently in deference to Pride And Prejudice.
10.) Excerpts of George Bernard Shaw plays were compiled for the show.
11.) R.P.I. Players Winter Workshop.
12.) R.P.I. Players Summer production. For
consistency, all summer productions are listed as having occurred with
the season following the summer.
13.) Special October production.
14.) A summer production that consisted of scenes and acts from several playwrights' works.
15.) An RPI Summer Players and wE, the Free Theatre co-production.
16.) An RPI Players Summer production.
17.) Number 195 was skipped. A production of Harvey was planned but cancelled.
18.) Sheer Idiocy is the RPI Improvisational Theatre organization.
19.) A Project Sideshow production. These productions offered participation
for those not involved in the chosen Fall play or Spring musical.
20.) The 75th Season Banquet was held at 2pm on Saturday, April 16, 2005 in
the McNeil Room of the Rensselaer Union prior to the closing night
performance of Man Of La Mancha. The luncheon reunited many old-timers to
celebrate the membership, 75 seasons and 250 productions of RPI Players.
